About Admiralty RV Resort, San Antonio Texas

If you've been keeping up with my blog, you know I'm now a host at Admiralty RV Resort.

The following are a few things to know:

Because of Spring Break, March is the busiest month of the year for RV resorts near Sea World San Antonio. Plan to make reservations early.
Admiralty RV Resort has a large pool, a jacuzzi, a fitness room, a playground for the kids, a laundry facility, cable TV, and WiFi. Spaces are tight and shade is limited. There are pull-through and back-in sites available. Most sites are large enough to park your rig and at least one car ranging from 60 feet in length down to about 35 feet. They do have limited "luxury" pull through sites with a landscaped yard. Many sites do have small grassy yards. It's best to ride through with a map and pick a few of your "favorite" sites before making a decision. Admiralty RV Resort offers daily, weekly and monthly site rentals. Site pricing starts at $36 per night.

Do not park your rig along the back fence as directly behind is a neighborhood complete with dogs who stay outside 99% of the time...barking. Also, some of the pet owners in the neighborhood (behind the fence) do not clean up after their pets and the smell of doggie poo can be pervasive...it just depends on which way the wind blows.

Speaking of pets,
Admiralty RV Resort does allow up to 2 dogs, they must be on a leash at all times and you must clean up after Fido. Aggressive breeds including Rottweilers, Doberman Pinchers and Pit Bulls are NOT allowed.

Admiralty RV Resort offers several discounts including Good Sam, AAA, TACO and Passport America. Restrictions apply!

If you're a tourist this location is close to Sea World which is just 10 minutes away (the resort runs a shuttle) or if you're interested in sightseeing, Admiralty RV Resort can arrange a guided tour of many of the most popular tourist destinations including the Texas hill country and the historic San Antonio Missions. All tours are provided by an independent tour company, not Admiralty RV Resort. In the resort office, you can also purchase very inexpensive bus tickets to downtown San Antonio, and ride the trolleys all day at no extra charge. (Tickets are $4.00 each, prices subject to change without notice.) Shopping is very close as are restaurants and bars.

As for the "natives", everyone in this area seems very friendly and quite helpful. Texas has a nice, down home feel.

At this time there is a drought in this part of Texas. It is very dry and there is a fire alert which means no open fires. The weather here is moderate in the winter, there are a few cold snaps. Temperatures in winter range from the low 40s to the 80s, but are mostly constant hovering between the 50s at night to the mid 70s during the day. The weather, for the most part, is dry with some humidity, but it can be very windy and when it rains...it pours! There is a possibility of tornadoes in this part of the country as warm Gulf moisture collides with cold fronts coming in from the west during early spring and through summer. Spring is moderately warm and summer is best described as...HOT! In Autumn temps start to cool in October. The country side is mostly brush with not so tall trees. The hill country is a contrast with lush greenery, hills (obviously) and picturesque vistas.

Downtown San Antonio is beautiful! Riverwalk is a prime destination. Be sure to take a guided riverboat tour when visiting. Take a trolley to the Farmer's Market and Market Square for food and fun! For a breathtaking walk back into history visit the Spanish missions and be sure to check out First Friday if you happen to be in town.

Until next time!
Barb
